My Services
At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the unique ways we each navigate death, dying, and farewelling those we love. As a funeral director, celebrant, and death care worker, I’m here to support you and your family with compassion, guidance, and gentle care – whether you’re planning a heartfelt funeral, saying goodbye to an infant, preparing for a loved one’s final days, or simply seeking advice. My services honour your wishes, ease the practicalities, and protect the sacredness of these moments, so you’re never left to shoulder it alone.
Funeral Planning
From direct cremations to traditional funerals and unique end-of-life celebrations, I’ll help you say goodbye in a way that reflects your circumstances.
I understand that every relationship is different, so what feels right for one family may not suit another. That’s why I work closely with you to create a service that’s respectful of your loved one, your wishes, and your budget—free from judgement and with genuine compassion.
As a mother and someone from a large family, I deeply appreciate the complexities and emotions that can surface during this time. My role is to help you navigate the arrangements - no matter how overwhelming - so you’re never left to manage it alone. From the moment of death to the issuing of the death certificate, I’ll be by your side, ensuring everything stays on track and meets your family’s needs.
There’s no rush, no pressure, and no hidden costs—just a promise to walk with you every step of the way.
Celebrant Services
Every person has a story worth sharing, and that’s what I treasure most about this work - hearing the stories of lives lived well and to the full.
As a funeral celebrant, it’s a deep privilege to listen to these stories and transform them into ceremonies that reflect the essence of your loved one and the values you hold dear — whether that’s a moving eulogy in a traditional setting or a vibrant celebration of life on a sun-dappled back deck. However you choose to say goodbye, I bring my whole heart to every service, weaving in meaningful rituals that help family and friends find comfort and connection as they gather to grieve and remember.
A funeral isn’t just about mourning the death of someone — it’s also about honouring their journey and celebrating the love and laughter they brought into the world. Together, with you sharing your memories and me listening with compassion and care, we’ll create a farewell that captures their unique spirit and leaves everyone with a lasting sense of their light and legacy.
Infant Cremations
As a mother myself, I understand how deeply painful and heartbreaking it is to lose a pre-term baby, or an infant child.
That’s why I offer gentle, personalised infant cremation services that honour your child’s brief but precious life. I provide compassionate, door-to-door transfers and personal care for your baby, so you can rest knowing your baby is not left alone at any stage.
From arranging the return of their ashes to lodging the death certificate on your behalf, I’m here to help make this harrowing time a little easier for you by supporting you with warmth and understanding as you navigate this profound loss.
Death Care Services
‘Death care’ is the tender support I offer to the dying and their families, so that they can ‘die well’. This helps someone’s final days be as beautiful and personal as their first days on earth.
Many people ask me what “dying well” means. For me, it’s about creating a calm, loving space where you and your family feel in control and at peace. It’s about empowering you with knowledge and support, so your final chapter is yours alone: surrounded by love, dignity, and care.
Just as the healthcare system often interferes with normal birthing processes, the healthcare system can also interfere with death and take it from the dying. But I believe that your final days should be yours alone - guided by your choices and your wishes.
As a death care worker, I walk alongside you with compassion and care, lightening the load however I can. Whether I’m helping honour a wish to die at home, advocating for equipment or resources to make you more comfortable, holding a home vigil, or protecting your family’s peace, my focus is on easing your burdens.
I’m here to help you navigate practical and emotional complexities, to capture cherished stories, or host a living wake that celebrates your life while there’s still time. My mission is to meet you where you are and discover what unique support will help you feel most at ease – so that your last days truly reflect your values, your wishes, and your love.
Pre-planned Funerals
If you’ve ever faced the sudden loss of someone you love, you’ll know how overwhelming it can be to plan a funeral while grappling with shock and grief.
One of the most compassionate things you can do for your family is to plan ahead. Pre-planning your funeral means every important detail — from the type of coffin and venue to your preferences for cremation or burial — is thoughtfully documented and held in trust, along with payment at today’s prices. This ensures that your wishes are honoured and spares your family from the burden of making these decisions in a time of heartbreak and uncertainty. By pre-planning, you lift a weight from their shoulders, giving them the freedom to grieve and remember without the added strain of guessing what you might have wanted.
Prepaid funeral funds are a secure and sensible choice. Your funds are safely held by an independent funeral fund, underwritten by Australian Unity and regulated by ASIC. If Picaluna ever closes down, your funds are seamlessly redirected to another funeral provider, ensuring your investment and your wishes remain protected.
Pre-planning is a powerful way to show your family you care, by offering them comfort and clarity when they need it most.
