About me

I’m Deana - a mother, death care worker, funeral celebrant, and funeral director.

I’m passionate about the outdoors, human stories, and supporting people to die well. After nearly 20 years in the corporate world advocating for better environmental outcomes, I found the meaning and connection I had been seeking in the death care industry.

I expected to support people through deep grief, but I’ve been humbled to discover how much love and storytelling are part of this work. My role exists because someone was - and is - deeply loved… and I love witnessing this love.

Sometimes, I guide families through the end-of-life stage, helping ease the transition from dying to death. Other times, I’m privileged to witness the love and memories shared as we create a meaningful farewell together.

This work is profoundly humbling. Few roles offer such an intimate window into people’s lives or reveal the vulnerability and strength it takes to say goodbye. Every day, I’m reminded of how precious life is, and how quickly it can change. With this understanding, I’m here to listen to your stories, advocate on your behalf, help ease overwhelming tasks, and assist in creating a farewell that truly honors your loved one. It’s a genuine privilege to support families through these final, sacred moments.

If you value training, I’ve been lucky to learn from some of Australia’s most skilled death care workers and funeral celebrants. I’m also proud to partner with Picaluna Funerals, who donate 5% of all profits to a charity partner of your choice — a small way of giving back and supporting others during these tender times.

It would be my privilege to help ensure your loved one’s voice is heard and their legacy beautifully honoured.
